The world needs new images … - Werner Herzog, in a Seattle film lecture some 30 years ago.
about the artist
Voracious culture mining is it’s own reward.
Robert Williamson has had a studio space at the Salty Dog for 30+ years, working on the third floor at a safe distance from the cloud of clay dust that envelopes the building. He has cobbled together a wide range of experience in art and design, often working with architects or directly with clients on site specific commissions for hospitality projects. Clients include Microsoft, Google, YouTube, LunchBox Lab, Virginia Tech, Penn State, University of Washington, and Nordstroms. Reproductions of his mural work for Starbucks are seen in stores from Tokyo to Cairo, (until the next time they remodel).
